getting started

2 days from now, I'll be in Antalya for exactly a month. I'm not in any place to give tips or write a do this don't do this list. Considering I don't really like this place so I'm biased, negatively (I'm sure there's a word for that but I can't remember it now).

But I will do my own "so far for me.." thing anyway.

If you're in Antalya around winter, don't leave the house without a coat. Seriously, it could be all shiny sunny warm in the morning, and by the evening you may be stuck with a horrible pour and nothing to prevent you from getting soaked to your underwear.

Don't think just because you're waiting in a bus stop, the one you're waiting for will eventually stop there.

Don't work in an office if it's located right in front of a mosque. (That'a a general thing though, not specific for Antalya but still.)

Shop in Free Life. I haven't had the chance yet, but the guy there sells really good jeans for really good prices.

If you're a hang-around-in-a-shopping-mall type of person, you won't like it here at all. The most well known shopping malls (which are right next to one another) will make you feel claustrophobic in about 2 seconds.

If you're along the shoreline you get a gorgeous view of the sea and the mountains. That's something to wake up to.

There is no Pizza Hut. There are Dominos and Starbucks though.

Central heating system isn't a common thing. You either have an a/c or a space heater. If you don't, you freeze. (Yes, it gets cold in Antalya)

Get a bike. Antalya is mainly plain.

Oh btw, I normally live in Istanbul (yeah yeah jaded metropol person) and I'm located here for the time being for a crappy job that I don't really wanna do. But it's temporary, so as long as I'm here why not make a sarcastic blog about it?

Yeah.
